Destine – Forevermore
After a period of silence of almost three years, Destine is back with the release of their third album Forevermore. The album was made possible entirely by the fans who supported Destine en masse in a crowdfunding project.
The rock band that scored multiple radio hits since 2007, did sold-out tours at home and abroad and performed at Pinkpop and Lowlands, went back into the studio quite soon after the second album ‘Illuminate’. But this did not feel right. Especially songwriter, singer and guitarist Robin van Loenen was ready for a period of rest. Destine disappeared from the radar for a while. Time in which Robin built his own studio and produced a lot of music for other bands. The other band members started other bands and projects, which also turned out to be very successful. Destine’s future was in doubt.
But blood is thicker than water. In the summer of 2014, the band decided to return to a plan from the early years: the last money in the account was used to rent a house, where the band members lived together for a few weeks and worked on new songs.
In order to make the recording and production of the album financially possible, the band called on their fans. Within 30 days, fans raised more than €20,000, and the recordings could begin. Singer/guitarist Robin produced the songs himself. For the mixing, James Paul Wisner was called in, who had previously worked with Paramore and also mixed the previous Destine albums.
