Backcorner Boogie Band – The Kotten Field Sessions
The Backcorner Boogie Band is the group of Hendrik Jan Lovink – known from Jovink and the Zwarte Cross Festival, among others – and consists of no fewer than 12 musicians, including a real brass section, drummer, guitarists, bassist, harmonica & Hammond player and two backing singers. BBB combines (heavy) rock, blues, big band swing, boogie and soul and knows how to pour these musical genres into catchy and warm songs. This debut album was recorded (live and analog) in a few days in a studio in the hamlet of Kotten, deeply hidden in the depths of the Achterhoekse Coulisse landscape. The recipe was simple: Just get all the musicians together in one room, turn on the tape recorder and let it roll!
